Granite
Durability: Granite is a common and widely occurring type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock. Granite has a medium to course texture, occasionally with some individual crystals larger than the groundmass forming a rock known as porphyry. Granite is very strong and durable and as such, is ideal for use as kitchen bench tops. Granite will last longer than any other surface and has a high heat tolerance. It is also a popular choice for use outside your home, such as BBQ areas, as the colours will not fade. Engineered stone should not be used outside as it may be affected by direct sunlight.

Marble
Durability: Marble is a nonfoliated metamorphic rock resulting from the metamorphism of limestone, composed mostly of calcite (a crystalline form of calcium carbonate). As Marble is formed from limestone and has a different mineral content from granite, it is less durable than granite against some household kitchen products. We recommend you use granite or engineered quartz stone for your kitchen. Marble is a popular choice for bathroom vanities where there less abrasive and corrosive products.Visual: Marble comes in a varied range of colours of which we stock the most popular colours.
